30 transcribed oral tradition songs from the sound archives of the Welsh Folk Museum. Collected in the field by editor D. Roy Saer in the late 1960s Phyllis Kinney transcribed the pices into notation for unaccompanied solo voice. A very authentic and scholarly collection. 

The 'Traditional Songs of the Welsh' was first published in 1961 in two volumes, edited by W S Gwynn Williams. The present edition combines most of those songs within one volume. The most obvious exceptions are the carols, which will appear in a separate volume, 'Hen Garolau Cymru'.
